The Snow Fun outing was a great success! We started off Saturday with some fine Pancakes cooked up by the Dragons Patrol.Next it was on to scout skills. The Patrol Leaders each instructed the scouts on their trail to first requirements, all the patrol leaders did a great job at instructing. Scouts learned knots, whip and fuse a rope, how to use a compass, safe hiking, read a Topo map and Orienting a map.Once the training was over the Pine Tree Patrol cooked up some hot Dogs and Top Romon. Next we were off to the snow. All of the scouts played in the snow from 12:30 - 4:30 . Everyone was hungry by the time we returned to the cabin and the Dragens and Eagles cooked up a mess of spaghetti, sausage, garlic bread, pudding and popcorn. In the evening we played a couple of board games. Then it was off to bead. On Sunday we got up and were treated to a fine breakfast cooked by the Pine Trees Patrol. After we eat we learned a lesson in teamwork and performed a major clean up of the cabin. Next we headed up to Calaveras Big trees and hiked the North Grove trail. Lunch was sandwiches and then we left for home.
Special Thanks to all the Adult leaders that made the trip possible: Norm, Dave H. and Will C.
